Friends Chat and clans enter alpha

16 August 2026

The next alpha update gives players more ways to find one another in the world. Friends Chat and the first clan systems are now live for testing.

Start with Friends Chat

Every character joins the Ritual Friends Chat on login, so there is always a shared place to talk. You can leave it, join a player-owned channel, or create and configure your own through the familiar setup flow.

Channel owners can set entry, talk, kick, and rank requirements. Rosters, rank changes, kicks, and channel messages use the native chat experience rather than a separate social window.

Create a clan in Falador

The Clan Clerk is now waiting in Falador. You can create a clan alone or invite nearby founders before confirming it. Once the clan exists, members can use the clan roster and channel, list the clan on the recruitment board, and review or accept applications.

The first version deliberately keeps the ceremony easy to test. It does not require the usual long playtime, and invited founders are optional.

What we want you to test

Try a complete social loop with a second account: create or join a Friends Chat, send messages, change a rank, then create a clan and use the recruitment board. If something looks wrong, tell us the character names involved, where you were, and the exact action that led to it.

Some clan administration is still to come. Rank editing, bans, guest-clan access, and cross-world presence are not in this alpha slice. The roadmap records those limits as we add them.
