Bosses and activities: the September combat update

7 September 2026

The latest alpha build expands the encounters available to test beyond the early combat routes. Some are ready for players to exercise their main loop; others still have substantial gaps. Here is where the work stands.

King Black Dragon, Sarachnis, and Cerberus

King Black Dragon now has the public lair route, melee and dragonfire attacks, antifire interactions, poison, freeze and stat-drain effects, drops, and the Prince black dragon pet roll. Private instances, some combat modifiers, and parts of the tracking and secondary drop systems remain.

Sarachnis has a solo encounter core with melee and ranged attacks, webs, healing, spawn waves, drops, and Sraracha. Public-room multiplayer behaviour and some presentation details still need work, so start with solo testing.

Cerberus has ordinary and triple-style attacks, soul prayer and damage checks, a player-targeted lava pool, drops, and Hellpuppy. The complete soul movement and projectile presentation, additional lava pools, fire wall, and Slayer-task gates are unfinished. This is an alpha encounter, not a claim of complete Cerberus parity.

Wintertodt and Zalcano

Wintertodt now has shared encounter energy, warmth, braziers, pyromancers, skilling actions, points, and saved reward-cart rolls. At zero warmth, the current alpha safely ejects the player to the lobby. Some supporting effects and achievement hooks remain.

Zalcano's encounter and reward work is also included. Group testing should focus on a complete kill: entry, resource processing, boss phases, hazards, contribution, and reward delivery. Some visual effects and knockback behaviour are still being finished.

Warriors' Guild and Pest Control

The Warriors' Guild work covers entry requirements, animated armour, tokens, Cyclops rooms, defender progression, and food and potion shops. Several side activities and dialogue paths remain.

Pest Control has an early lander-to-portal test loop with queues, portal shields, activity tracking, and saved commendations. It does not yet have isolated rounds, the full pest and knight behaviour, or the finished reward shop. Concurrent rounds still share the island.

Raid progress, without calling it finished

Chambers of Xeric has received party, room-layout, instance, and encounter work, including Tekton, Vanguards, and Jewelled Crabs. That is progress toward the raid, not a finished end-to-end Chambers release.

The Gauntlet and Corrupted Gauntlet have tested encounter and preparation logic, but still need runtime connections and full client verification. They should not yet be treated as complete playable runs. Tombs of Amascut also remains under construction; an invocation board is not a finished raid.

What to report

For an encounter problem, include the boss, group size, attack or phase, protection prayer, and what happened. Short clips help with movement and timing. If a death, disconnect, or reward claim loses progress or duplicates items, report it before trying the action again.
