Skilling update: patches, potions, houses, and pay-dirt

7 September 2026

The opening skilling routes have grown since August. This update adds several longer progression loops to the deployed alpha, with some clear limits while we test them in game.

Farming starts in Catherby

Catherby's allotment, flower, and herb patches now support raking, composting, planting, growth, disease, and harvesting. Growth continues while you are offline, and patch state is saved for your next login.

The compost bin has persistent processing timers, including supercompost and ultracompost. The Tool Leprechaun provides tool storage and produce noting, and bottomless-bucket charges are supported.

This is a Catherby release, not full-world Farming. Wider patch coverage, tree runs, protection payments, and Farming Guild contracts remain. Crop curing, dead-patch clearing, and the bottomless-bucket flow are useful targets for client testing.

Herblore gets a production loop

You can clean supported herbs, process ingredients with the appropriate tools, make unfinished potions, and add secondaries to supported finished recipes. Production includes level checks, batch timing, movement cancellation, and fractional XP that survives a relog.

Potion production is further along than the full set of drinking effects. Decanting, several complex recipe chains, quest gates, and some potion effects are still being built. Please report the exact potion and dose when testing either production or consumption.

A first home of your own

The Construction work adds house purchase, private entry and exit, room placement in build mode, and saved layouts. Starter-parlour furniture includes chairs, rugs, bookcases, fireplaces, and curtains, with tool, material, and level checks.

Visitors, servants, later-room furniture, utility features, and parts of the removal and staircase flows are still to come. For now, a useful test is to buy a house, place a room, build a supported piece of furniture, leave, and return after logging out.

Slayer and Motherlode Mine

Slayer has starter master assignments, supported task kill credit, points, and the first reward interactions. The full monster ladder and advanced assignment rules are unfinished, so include the master, assigned task, and NPC variant in any report.

Motherlode Mine adds veins, pay-dirt processing, the water circuit, sack collection, ores, nuggets, and upgrades. Try the complete trip from mining through washing and collection, then bank the result and return. Check that stored progress survives a relog.

These changes are part of the September alpha release. The roadmap keeps the detailed limits for each skill, and the playtest guide explains how to send a reproducible report.
