Hunter: from bird snares to Puro-Puro

13 October 2026

Hunter now has a much wider set of methods to try in Ritual. The latest alpha brings together short catches, traps you manage on the ground and birdhouse runs you can return to between other activities.

Birdhouses and Fossil Island travel

The four supported Fossil Island birdhouse sites now cover building, filling and collecting a house, with saved state between sessions. Bring logs, clockwork, a hammer, a chisel and suitable bird seeds. Collection takes about 50 minutes, making a run something you can fit around another activity.

Magic Mushtrees provide the island's native travel interface. Follow-up work corrected the birdhouse arrival point, a site becoming unavailable after relogging, tool requirements and sound feedback.

Traps across the hunting grounds

Bird snares now have setup, catch, Reset and empty-dismantle handling, with corrections to collection animations and RuneLite trap-state feedback. Box traps support the implemented ferrets, chinchompas and embertailed jerboas, with ownership, shared trap limits and recovery. Hunter level requirements apply; Eagle's Peak is waived for the supported box-trapping route.

Deadfalls use the hunting grounds' boulders, while pitfalls combine teasing-stick pursuit with the jump and trap sequence. Net trapping covers swamp lizards plus orange, red, black and tecu salamanders. Bring a rope and small fishing net for each setup. Releasing a caught salamander now removes it instead of leaving it on the ground.

Take a falcon out

Talk to Matthias at the falconry area, meet the Hunter requirement and pay the displayed rental fee. The falcon's flight, caught-kebbit marker, retrieval and return after a miss are connected. Recent fixes also address catch behaviour and nearby NPCs briefly disappearing during a catch.

Butterflies, implings and Elnock

Butterfly catching can continue after a miss, and catching with a net does not require a jar. Impling catches and Elnock's services are available through the supported Puro-Puro route in Hunter travel. Bring the appropriate net and impling jars for that activity.

Lucky-jar loot, crop-circle entry, dynamic wheat and imp defenders remain outside this release. Catch-rate work has progressed, but broader trap-attraction timing is still being followed up.
