An alpha world update

Ritual's alpha has had a busy stretch. The goal has been practical: make more of the early world usable, make it easier to begin a character in the way you want, and give players better reasons to meet in game.

Start a character your way

Character creation now gives a clearer view of game modes and experience rates before you commit. You can compare the projected skill levels for a different rate, read the trade-offs, go back without losing the choice, and confirm when it looks right.

The options are still Ritual's own alpha rules, not a claim that every long-term mode is finished. Group Ironman and several later restrictions remain for future work, but the starting choices now have a proper preview instead of a guess.

More people in the same world

This is the kind of work that improves quickly with real use. Try a chat channel, create a clan, invite someone, use the recruitment board, and let us know where the flow feels unclear.

Early routes keep getting stronger

The first travel pass is in place through spellbook teleports and charged jewellery. Since then, we have also tightened up the small things that make a test route feel reliable: fishing spot operations, Musa Point lobster spots, mining rock interactions, firemaking cleanup, and gathering animations.

Those changes are not headline features on their own. Together, they mean fewer interrupted sessions when you are trying to train, move supplies, or explore the opening world.

Keep the reports coming

Alpha is most useful when people play normally and tell us where the game disagrees with their expectations. If a route, interface, chat action, or character choice fails, send the location, character name, action, and result. The roadmap remains the clearest picture of what is ready, what is being built, and what is still planned.
