Ritual RuneLite: downloads and alpha setup

Ritual now has a RuneLite launcher for the alpha. The Windows and Apple Silicon Mac installers are available from the downloads page.

Choose the Ritual RuneLite download

Select RuneLite for Windows or RuneLite for Mac (Apple Silicon). The Mac build is for M-series machines; an Intel Mac installer is not currently listed. The separate Windows client download is still available, so check the label if you specifically want RuneLite.

The installers include Java. Open the Ritual app and use your Ritual website account details to log in. A standard RuneLite launch does not automatically select Ritual.

How updates work

The launcher checks the client release when you open it and downloads a changed client when needed. It verifies the downloaded client before starting it.

This updates the game client. Automatic replacement of the native launcher itself is not enabled yet; if the launcher needs an upgrade, we will publish a new installer and say so in the release notes.

After a server update that changes interfaces, fully close and reopen the client. Logging out and back in within the same running window may leave older interface data in memory.

Current alpha limitations

The Windows installer is unsigned, and the Mac app is not notarized. These packaging steps are still part of the launcher work.

We are also investigating a report of the client displaying a Jagex date-of-birth prompt. That is not a Ritual account-registration step. If it appears, go back and report what happened immediately beforehand, rather than following a Jagex account link to fix a Ritual login.

If loading stops or login fails, include your operating system, which download you used, the message or loading percentage, and whether it happens again after a fresh launch. A screenshot is useful, but leave passwords and account recovery details out of it.
